Question about htaccess

by ullone » Sat Mar 03, 2018 12:36 pm

I would like to build a series of portals that revolve around a meta search engine. Portals instead of banner ads would have links to the search engine with keywords relevant to the nature of the portal itself. For example, a pet portal would have research such as pet supplies. Where is the problem? The problem is that I fear that one day the site that provides me the meta search engine can close and in that case I should replace it with a different meta search script, then with a different link. But I will not be able to change the links to the old search engine contained in the portals because I would have to change tens of thousands of pages containing articles for each portal. I think I could solve the problem using the htaccess file. In this regard I read something about the functions redirect and mod_rewrite but I have not investigated. I would like to ask this. Assuming that the current connections to the search engine are of this type http://www.domain.com/index.php?page=se ... ch=keyword and the link to the new search engine is of this type http: // www.domain.com/search.php?keywords=keyword You can use htaccess to modify the intermediate part while leaving the domain and the keyword intact ?. Then replace the old /index.php?page=search/web&search= with the new /search.php?keywords= leaving the domain and keywords intact
