upon what they feel comfortable with and although php is nowadays popular but that doesnot decrease the usefulness of .net. The only thing is that apache servers can be bought a little cheaper.

This post was 11 months ago. As such, are you able to decide? Anyway, I found the information below on Google and I hope that will help you decide.

ASP.NET is better suited for large and medium-sized organizations whereas PHP is better equipped to serve start-up and small-sized organizations. ASP.NET being paid has a decent market share in the IT world whereas PHP being open source, is freely available to the developers has a higher market share than ASP.NET.
