How do i know wich selectors supports wich properties.

Hello, its about css.

I dont know if im clear.
I need to know when an html tag supports a property.
For example if i have a ul>li>a> how do i know wich one is the one that will remove the dots?.(style="list-style-type:none") the Ul> The Li? or the a?.
This kind of issue happens to me with all others selectors attributes and or properties.
There's any sheet? or some keywords to use for a search in order to find the tips or wether the instructions.
Please help me and thank you a lot in advance.

It's right there in the spec. For most things it's easier to look in the CSS2 spec.
Look the property up here.
https://www.w3.org/TR/CSS2/propidx.html
Click the property you are interested in and at the top of the description you find some general information. For example for 'margin' you can read this.

--------
'margin'
Value: <margin-width>{1,4} | inherit
Initial: see individual properties
Applies to: all elements except elements with table display types other than table-caption, table and inline-table
Inherited: no
Percentages: refer to width of containing block
Media: visual
Computed value: see individual properties
---------
