HTML vs CSS

by buzzdiya » Wed Mar 02, 2011 9:44 pm

Hi Guys,

Probably an easy question for you.
I've been working on mainframe technology for many years now and a few months back I started getting interested in the non mainframe world. Creating websites became by hobby and ventured into that. Slowly I learned that several good websites are made in CSS.
Is it true that CSS is much better than HTML ? If yes, what is the best source to read and gain knowledge in CSS ?

CSS is much better for layout than HTML. But HTML is the foundation for all websites - HTML is the "mother tongue" of your browser. HTML is used to structure content. CSS is used for formatting structured content.

So you should learn both - starting with HTML. You can start right here: http://html.net/tutorials/

Good luck :)

I feel there is no comparison between HTML and CSS.
HTML enables you to have a webpage into your browser regardless how does it look like but CSS makes it beautiful, rest there is not such comparison of both languages :)

They are like a happy marriage. Very different. But they can't live without each other :)
