safari a link hover issue

by cinameng » Sat Dec 07, 2013 4:13 pm

I've used a: link hover bold and when I scroll to the bottom of the page in Safari one of my links looks slightly different to the other, it looks like it picks up font-weight: lighter from somewhere even though I haven't used this anywhere. The issue occurs only when I do one of two things, either a) scroll to the bottom of the page or b) enter the div that contains the a: link.

All other links using the same CSS are fine.

The html foor the original links looks like this:-

Code: Select all
<body>
      <div id="header"></div>
      <div id="navbar">
      <ul>
         <a href="file:.html"><li>Link</li></a>
         <a href="file:.html"><li>Link</li></a>
         <a href="file:.html"><li>Link</li></a>
         <a href="file:.html"><li>Link</li></a>
      <ul>
      </div>

and the CSS:

Code: Select all

li {

   display: inline;
   padding: 15px;
   border: 5px solid grey;
   background-color: white;
   border-radius: 5px 5px;
   font-size: 25px;
   color: silver;
}

a:hover {
   font-weight: bold;
   color: silver;
}

a:link {
   color: silver;
}

the additional link then looks like this:

Code: Select all

<div id="left"><div id="leftinside"><a href="file:.html"><img src=file:.jpg></div><div id="leftinsidetwo"><li>Link</li></a></div></div>

   <div id="center"><div id="centerinside"><a href="file:.html"><img src="file:.jpg"></div><div id="centerinsidetwo"><li>Link</li></a></div></div>

   <div id="right"><div id="rightinside"><a href="file:.html"><img src="file:.jpg"></div><div id="rightinsidetwo"><li>Link</li></a></div></div>

if anybody has any ideas assistance would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Try setting a:visited the same as hover. In case you override font-weight you can add !important so that you do not override the rule.
