Help with WordPress

by Karly » Thu Dec 15, 2011 3:43 pm

Does anyone know where i can find help with WordPress, my site was done by a Developer using WordPress, I am annoyed that my calls and emails are being ignored. My request to make a change has taken too long and I need to get a grip on my site and manage myself. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm not an expert, but if you elaborate on the issue, perhaps you might find someone to answer your query on this forum.

Also, I think good resources are: the wordpress Codex (codex.wordpress.org/), Chris Coyer's great site digging into wordpress (http://digwp.com/) and screencast series on css-tricks (http://css-tricks.com/video-screencasts ... -part-one/).

Thank you, my problem is that the Developer gave me instructions for the WP Admin area and how I can cange, edit my pictures, descriptions etc. I went ahead and did so, but the pic did not change it does show that there was changes in the admin area but when I log out and access my site, the original pic is missing and the replacement pic is not showing up.

Still not much information. Is it an image you uploaded from inside a post or page? Or is it a custom header image? If you access your site, right-click with your mouse and select view source, can you see if the mark-up for the image is there? If so, can you see if the src is referencing your image? If it is it might be that you haven't uploaded the image and therefore you need to upload it on your server. Otherwise it's more likely to do with the coding in your wordpress theme.

Hi Karly,
Every wordpress theme has it's help file. You have to find it. All the necessary information are given there. Perhaps it is the last tab of your theme options page. Then read it carefully and follow the steps to modify your wordpress theme. If your problem is not solved by this, let us know specifically about your problem in more details.
